Position: Secretary of Transport Networks & Logistics Section, Sustainable Transport Division

Victoria Ivanova has been working in the secretariat of the UN Economic Commission for Europe as Economic Affairs Officer since April 2015. Following her first degree in mechanical engineer in 1992, she obtained a Ph. D. in 1997. Victoria has been working in the inland water transport sector for 19 years. She started her career in a classification society of inland and river-sea vessels where she initially worked on the development of technical prescriptions for vessels and external relations, subsequently she worked as the Head of the Rules and External Relations Department. Victoria started to participate in the activities the UNECE Working Party on Inland Water Transport in 1999. She is a secretary of the Working Party on Inland Water Transport of the Inland Transport Committee where her work includes providing secretariat services for the Working Party and its subsidiary body, providing technical input into the development of existing Conventions and ensuring that issues related to inland water transport are well understood throughout the UN system and beyond.
